For determination of basal metabolism, by measurement of oxygen consumption.

The 6 liter capacity float is fitted with chain compensated counter balance. A thermometer is fitted on the float. Movements of the float are recorded by means of a gravity writing ink pen, adjustable by a lever at the bottom. Valves are enclosed and are easily accessible .Soda lime container, with screw connection in the center chamber. Drain cocks to all the tubes and container. Sampling cock is provided at the mouth-piece to connect the subject to the spirometer or the atmosphere.

The recording cylinder (12x 6) is of the lift-off type, and is driven by an electrical unit, giving two speeds viz: one revolution in 20 minutes, and one rev. Nos 4 minutes. Speed change through a lever. Pilot lamp to act as indicator The unit is fitted on portable metal frame, and is supplied complete with valves, tubes, mouthpiece, nose clip ,ink writing pen, and 50 charts.
